Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) formally accepted the College of Engineering and Information Sciences (CEIS) Integrated Laboratory Center, Phase 1, during a turnover and acceptance ceremony on January 15, 2026.

The project was implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region XIII and constructed by Thearis Builders and Supply, with a total contract cost of ₱29,849,977.83. The facility is intended to support laboratory instruction, research, and extension activities for engineering and information sciences programs.

The facility was turned over by Thearis Builders and Supply, represented by Engr. Noel Digol, and DPWH Region XIII, represented by Engr. Julie Ann Boñol. ASSCAT formally accepted the project through Supervising Administrative Officer Ruth S. Desamparo and Dr. Carmelo S. Llanto, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance.

The ceremony was attended by CEIT Dean Dr. Rodulfo Macalam, along with faculty members and students of the College.

Dr. Llanto said the laboratory center should be fully utilized for its intended purposes, particularly for student instruction, research, and extension activities. He noted that the facility is expected to increase the College’s capacity to deliver hands-on training and support academic and research requirements.

Dean Macalam expressed his gratitude to DPWH Region XIII, the contractor, and ASSCAT administrators for the completion of the project and assured that the facility will be put to good use in supporting instruction and student learning.

The CEIS Integrated Laboratory Center, Phase 1, adds to ASSCAT’s growing academic infrastructure and supports the institution’s efforts to strengthen its engineering and information sciences programs.
