With just 30 days remaining before the Palarong Pambansa 2026, preparations are gaining momentum as Agusan del Sur readies itself to host the country’s premier student-athlete competition.

On April 24, 2026, the Agusan del Sur State University (ADSSU) underwent an initial inspection led by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bunawan, in coordination with the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), MDRRMO, and BLGU. The joint inspection focused on strengthening campus readiness in terms of security, emergency response, traffic management, and venue preparedness.

ADSSU has been designated as one of the official venues for artistic gymnastics and will also serve as billeting quarters for technical officials—placing the university at the center of both competition and coordination.

The inspection team assessed key areas including traffic routes, athlete and official accommodations, safety protocols, and the overall readiness of facilities to ensure a smooth and secure conduct of events.

Leading the delegation from the LGU was Vice Mayor Ednard Gil Elorde, joined by Sangguniang Bayan members and former Vice Mayor Gilbert G. Elorde. Representing the university were President Joy C. Capistrano, Vice President Carmelo S. Llanto, Supervising Administrative Officer Ruth S. Desamparo, and members of the ADSSU Ad Hoc Committee on Palaro preparations.
