The night’s highlight is the Light Up a Place contest, where government offices, municipal departments, and local organizations compete to create the most dazzling and creative Christmas displays. Residents and visitors alike are treated to a mesmerizing spectacle of lights and holiday decorations, turning the municipality into a vibrant Christmas wonderland.

Adding energy and excitement to the evening, the ASSCAT Saliao Performing Arts Guild takes the stage with a lively performance of music, dance, and theatrical flair, setting the perfect festive mood for families and visitors.

Dr. Joy C. Capistrano, College President of the Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT), joined faculty, staff, and students to show support for the event. She praised the municipality for organizing the early festivities, noting that celebrations like this foster community unity while boosting tourism and local businesses.

ASSCAT also extended its congratulations to Mayor Sylvia B. Elorde and Vice Mayor Hon. Ednard Gil Elorde for their leadership and creativity in organizing an opening night full of light, joy, and holiday magic.
