As the Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) continues to expand its academic and public service mandate, the College formally welcomed a new set of personnel through an oath-taking ceremony held on January 6, 2026, at the ASSCAT Administration Board Room.

Administered by College President Joy C. Capistrano, the ceremony marked the entry of newly hired employees into ASSCAT’s workforce and into public service. In her message, President Capistrano underscored the importance of integrity, professionalism, and accountability in fulfilling the College’s mission as a state higher education institution. She was joined by Vice President for Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance Carmelo S. Llanto, Vice President for Research, Innovation, Development, and Extension Affairs Ferdinand A. Dumalagan, and Supervising Administrative Officer Ruth S. Desamparo, together with the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO).

Among those formally welcomed were Dr. Rolan Mancha and Engr. Robert Sonny Flaviano, both appointed as Associate Professors I, and Atty. Stacy Shara Otaza, who assumed the position of Attorney IV. Supporting the College’s research and innovation agenda are Junieca Mayor, appointed as Science Research Assistant, and Eric Cabatuan Jr., Science Research Specialist I.

The activity highlighted ASSCAT’s ongoing institutional growth and the opportunities that come with strengthening its human resources. As the College advances its thrusts in instruction, research, innovation, extension, and community engagement, the addition of new personnel plays a critical role in sustaining responsive and quality public service.

With the new year bringing renewed responsibilities and directions, ASSCAT welcomes its newest members as partners in carrying forward the institution’s mission of accessible education, inclusive development, and service to the people of Agusan del Sur and the region.
