Since its formal turnover in March 2025, the Multi-Purpose Building of the Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) has become a vital facility supporting the institution’s growing academic and student service needs. Initially completed through the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the building was envisioned as a dedicated space to strengthen student engagement and institutional activities.

To date, the facility is actively serving thousands of aspiring ASSCAT students as the primary testing center for the ongoing College Admission Test. Its strategic location near the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) and its spacious, flexible layout have enabled the smooth and orderly conduct of entrance examinations, ensuring a conducive and accessible environment for applicants across the province and nearby areas.

Beyond admissions, the Multi-Purpose Building has also been utilized as a buffer space for the conduct of classes, particularly during periods of high classroom demand. This has significantly eased space constraints, supported continuity of instruction, and enhanced the overall learning experience for students and faculty alike. 

Looking ahead, the continued development of the facility is set to further amplify its impact. Under the General Appropriations Act (GAA) 2026, an allocation of ₱20 million has been earmarked for the completion of the building’s second floor. This expansion will allow the Multi-Purpose Building to accommodate more academic, co-curricular, and institutional activities, further strengthening ASSCAT’s infrastructure for quality education.

The ASSCAT community extends its heartfelt appreciation to Congressman Adolph Edward “Eddiebong” Plaza for his steadfast support and for allocating the budget that will bring the facility to full completion. This investment reflects a shared commitment to advancing educational access, institutional growth, and student success in Agusan del Sur.

Aligned with the goals of Quality Education (SDG 4) and Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9), the Multi-Purpose Building stands as a testament to how strategic infrastructure development directly contributes to ASSCAT’s mission of serving its students and the wider community—today and in the years to come.
