Agusan del Sur State University (ADSSU), as a member of the Caraga Association of State Universities and Colleges, delivered a strong performance at the PASUC National Culture and the Arts Festival (NCAF) 2026, held from April 8–11, 2026 at West Visayas State University, Iloilo City.

Bringing 39 student-participants and 10 coaches, ADSSU competed in visual, literary, and dance arts, demonstrating both artistic excellence and a commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) through cultural preservation and creative expression.

Leading the university’s achievements was a 1st Place victory in the Festival Dance Competition, performed by the Saliao Performing Arts Guild under the guidance of Mr. Freddie Valderama. Their performance, inspired by the rich heritage of Agusan del Sur and the iconic Golden Tara, seamlessly fused storytelling, movement, and cultural identity.

In visual arts, ADSSU further distinguished itself as Lourance Zanny Zabala clinched 2nd Place in the Artistic Photography Contest, mentored by Engr. Janice C. Puspos.

The university’s participation was led by University President Dr. Joy C. Capistrano, with Cultural Coordinator Mr. Quim Miolata providing guidance that ensured a strong and cohesive performance from the delegation.

These efforts contributed to Caraga Region’s 9th overall placement among 16 regions nationwide. Organized by the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC), the festival gathers SUCs across the country to celebrate culture, creativity, and nation-building.

With gold, silver, and pride in hand, ADSSU continues to ARISE, championing culture, creativity, and excellence on the national stage.
