The Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) conducted a presentation and consultative engagement with Agusan del Sur State University (ADSSU) aimed at strengthening collaboration on volunteerism, community extension, and institutional partnerships.

The activity highlighted key programs and initiatives of PNVSCA, emphasizing the role of volunteerism in nation-building and sustainable development. Discussions also focused on expanding partnership opportunities between PNVSCA and ADSSU, particularly in advancing student and personnel engagement in community-based activities.

Among the major points raised were the enhancement of volunteer engagement mechanisms within the university, the exchange of best practices in community extension and volunteer management, and the identification of future collaborative programs that will support both institutional and community development goals.

A productive dialogue also took place on strengthening existing frameworks for volunteerism, with both institutions expressing commitment to deepening cooperation in civic engagement programs.

Present during the engagement were PNVSCA Executive Director Donald James D. Gawe, ADSSU Vice President for Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance Dr. Carmelo S. Llanto, and Vice President for Research, Innovation, Development, and Extension Affairs Dr. Ferdinand A. Dumalagan.

The initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by strengthening experiential learning and civic responsibility among students, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through the promotion of inter-institutional collaboration and shared development efforts.

Through this engagement, PNVSCA and ADSSU further deepen their commitment to fostering a culture of volunteerism, empowering communities, and enhancing institutional partnerships toward sustainable development.
