Agusan del Sur State University (ADSSU), together with the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), conducted a Pre-Retirement Seminar yesterday, September 30 at the Admin Board Room, providing employees with essential information and guidance as they prepare for retirement and the transition beyond government service.

Serving as resource speaker was GSIS Branch Manager, Mr. Troy L. Palermo, who discussed important information on GSIS retirement programs and benefits. He also provided guidance on the processes and considerations that employees need to be aware of when planning for retirement, allowing participants to raise questions and clarify concerns related to their prospective benefits.

The activity was also attended by University President Dr. Joy C. Capistrano, who shared a message highlighting the importance of early and informed retirement preparation. Joining her were Vice President for Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance Dr. Carmelo S. Llanto and Supervising Administrative Officer Ruth S. Desamparo, who likewise conveyed messages of support and appreciation to the employees participating in the seminar.

The seminar served as an avenue for ADSSU employees to gain a clearer understanding of retirement-related matters and prepare for their future beyond government service, reflecting the University’s commitment to employee welfare and its efforts toward decent work and social protection, in line with SDG 8
