ADSSU, ARTA Strengthen Youth Engagement in Good Governance

How government serves its citizens is also a concern for the young. At Agusan del Sur State University (ADSSU), a symposium brought this responsibility into focus, engaging students in understanding government service standards and supporting efforts toward more efficient, transparent, and citizen-centered public service.

Held on October 1, 2026, at the ADSSU Sports and Socio-Cultural Center, the activity was organized by ADSSU in collaboration with the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) Northern Mindanao Regional Field Office. It covered Republic Act No. 11032, or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018, alongside the ARTA Student Movement/ARTA Auxiliary (ARTA-X) Youth Engagement.

Led by Dr. Jutchel L. Nayra, CESE, the activity followed the โ€œLearn, Empower, and Partnerโ€ approach, connecting knowledge of government service standards with studentsโ€™ role in advancing better public service.

This connection gave the symposium its community relevance. Efficient and transparent service matters to the people who depend on government institutions. Engaging students in that concern places young citizens within the effort to build accountable and responsive governance, with an understanding of the standards public service should uphold.

The activity concluded with an Oath of Commitment, as participants affirmed their support for efficient, transparent, and citizen-centered public service. Their pledge reinforced the symposiumโ€™s call for youth participation and its support for Sustainable Development Goal 16 on peace, justice, and strong institutions.
