The Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) welcomed Hon. Adolph Edward “Eddiebong” G. Plaza, Congressman of the 2nd District of Agusan del Sur; Hon. Santiago “Santi” B. Cane Jr., Governor of the Province of Agusan del Sur; and Hon. Patricia “Pat” Plaza, Vice Governor of the Province, during a productive visit yesterday, February 2, 2026.

Discussions focused on the University Conversion of ASSCAT, authored by Congressman Plaza, highlighting its significance in strengthening the delivery of accessible, quality, and future-ready higher education, alongside potential partnerships that support institutional growth, innovation, and sustainable development aligned with SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).

This highlighted the continued alignment between ASSCAT and provincial leadership in advancing quality education and long-term development for Agusan del Sur, reflecting a shared vision for inclusive growth and innovation that contributes to SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).

The ASSCAT community also took the opportunity to celebrate the birthday of Governor Santi B. Cane Jr., extending heartfelt greetings and appreciation for his enduring support of education and public service.
