Investments in education often reveal their true value over time. For the Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT), one such investment is the donation of computer units turned over by Team Eddiebong on October 20, 2023, an initiative that continues to benefit students and the institution today.

Led by Cong. Adolph Edward G. Plaza, Team Eddiebong donated twenty-five (25) computer units intended to strengthen the ASSCAT E-Library. The donation was formally documented through a Deed of Donation and Acceptance and officially received by ASSCAT, represented by College President Joy C. Capistrano.

Over the years, the donated computer units have significantly strengthened the ASSCAT E-Library by expanding students’ access to digital academic resources, online journals, research databases, and technology-enabled learning tools. For many students, particularly those with limited access to personal devices, the availability of these computers has directly supported academic participation and performance.

Beyond student use, the donation has also contributed to institutional efficiency by easing demand on existing ICT facilities and complementing ASSCAT’s smart campus initiatives. This support aligns with the college’s long-term goal of enhancing academic delivery, research productivity, and its transition toward becoming a full-fledged university.

Through these sustained outcomes, the project naturally advances the Sustainable Development Goals, notably SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), demonstrating how a single educational initiative can generate lasting social and institutional impact.

ASSCAT extends its continued gratitude to Team Eddiebong for this meaningful investment. More than two years after its turnover, the computer donation remains a testament to how strategic support in education can shape opportunities, strengthen institutions, and serve communities well into the future.
