The Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) has achieved another milestone in research and innovation following the granting of patent for its Electronic 6-Probe Tipping Bucket Rain Gauge, a locally developed device designed to enhance rainfall measurement and monitoring.

The patented invention is a device that utilizes an electronic water-sensing system and multi-probe tipping bucket design to accurately detect and measure rainfall in real time, enhancing data accuracy for agricultural and environmental monitoring purposes.

This advances SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure by promoting research-driven technology and supports SDG 13: Climate Action through improved weather monitoring for climate resilience and disaster preparedness.

The successful patent registration was made possible through the support and facilitation of the Innovation and Development Office, which promotes intellectual property protection within the institution.

With this achievement, ASSCAT further establishes its role as a center of innovation, translating research initiatives into practical technologies that contribute to sustainable development and community resilience.
